Anyone have an old Muscle Car?

Just wondering if anyone has an old muscle car from the '60s or early '70s?

I started a new site that is actually kind of fun and challenging at the same time. Working with some new hosting applications. It still needs some work and the graphics are in the works but I think it is a good start.

Tell me what you think

http://historicmusclecars.com

The blog portion is pretty much done except for the graphics and waiting for some more advertisers. The forum needs some more work, obviously, and the classified section needs a lot of work yet. All I have done with the classifieds is to get it installed.

I want to, but I have four kids instead. I am on the downhill side of my family though, so I hope to be able to.afford some toys...soon.

I have a friend down in Ga who builds muscle cars, but from 30's to the 60's. His Dad is 80 and still builds them from rust buckets to nice pavement eaters.

I don't know if it counts but I have a 70s Triumph I spent about 4 years slowing restoring from a total basket case. I've taken first place with it several times at the local car shows. In a few years it wil be time to move on; I'm very interested in the Superformance 1965 AC Cobra 427 replicas.

I hear you on that one. For some reason they want to eat and wear shoes.

I've had several...but sold em. Right about now I'm wishing I hadn't. Nice site BTW.

Thanks. I think I have the forum all worked out now. Moving on to the classified section and then it is back to adding content.

I don't think the triumph counts. Hell even the Corvette does not count because it is actually a sports car. The mustang and several others do not either because of their smaller size. Not officially anyway by definition. That is a nice car to move up to.

Personally my car would be the '71 Cuda or the '68 Olds 442 and both of those in a convertible. But if someone was to give me one of the others, they won't get the title back... LOL

The old timers never quit. They would go through withdrawls if they did. That is probably what keeps him going strong.

Here is one of the best one's I owned over the years.

@Nick - That is one sweet car. How many times a week did you have to put new tires on?

@Art - That is going to be a nice looking ride when you are done. Although for me, trucks need to be raised not lowered.

@Ronnie - What does that have in it? '64 to '72 was the hey day for the muscle cars although Buick did put out the Grand National in the '80s. They say the first race was organized when the second car was produced. With that it seems that the birth of the muscle car as we know it was in 1949 with the Olds Rocket 88 that had a whopping 135 horsepower.

If anyone ever wants to showcase their car on the site, Just write up a story on it and send some good pics and I will put it up on there. Got the classified section working now to add some categories. Can't wait to see what the graphics guy comes up with.

Not a "muscle car", but my '70s ride...

Russ I have seen some Monte Carlo's that would do well in the muscle category. Not stock of course as well as some El Camino's.

That is a very clean looking car. You pressure wash it? LOL

Yes I do. A little Big Red powder in a bucket, nylon brush for soaping, pressure wash rinse (1,500 psi), a quick flash of acid on the bumpers and rallys, and a squirt of Super Spray Wax followed by a thorough shammying.
