Any one clean hoods here in phx.

As a salesman, I expect to be paid a commission on all sales and residuals on return services, but I am also the customers Account Executive, and he can come to me with any questions. I dont know of any business that gets paid residuals for leads, and I dont know any companies that offer residuals on leads. There are customer referral programs that a lot of companies have, but that is a one time deal. I would think you would have to do a lot more than refer somebody to get residual payments.

I trade leads every week with a fire surpression company, neither of us ask for anything in return. Since we don't do the work ourselves why not just hook up your customer with somebody who does a good job. Everybody wins! Am I getting money for the leads I give them directly? No, but I may get 15 referrals from them the next week...so in a way, I am getting money for it.

I had a company offer to give me a bunch of accounts in the area that I was already taking over and I was gonna have to give them 50% forever. They would have been basically sub-contracting me. But, I took all their customers anyway and didn't have to give them jack....that's the way I like it. :D

I think it's going to be very, very hard to find somebody that has been in business for 5 years that is still willing to give up that kinda money for the term of the contract...a newbie being suckered into that, I could see, but not somebody that is already rolling...no way

Interesting issue here. Ron is acting as an agent in this situation. As long as he is connected to the service provider, Hood Cleaner, by the agreement and receives remuneration (fee) - he is also held bound and liable in the event of a fire or lawsuit issue. He will be dragged into any resultant lawsuit.

In IRS words, he is also acting as a subcontractor and also looking at tax liabilities as well, ie. 1099 from the contractor. IRS loves to audit this stuff.

Yes I pay residual income on all maintenance accounts. It’s your choice to take a onetime or a smaller residual over the life of contract.

I also pay terms when salesmen leave; depending on there time they get weeks added to severance for all maintenance agreements.

I have no concerns about sub-contracting or liabilities. I take responsibilities for all my accounts and only hire insured contractors that are responsible.

When I give leads out I expect to be paid regardless of agreement. I expect a thank you lunch a trade or something. If that never happens then I will not hand them out.

There all 1099 and I have no concerns about there liabilities.
