Another Kerosene question

I read a post on another board saying that since kerosene doesn't have the lubrication properties of diesel that running kerosene will ruin the fuel pump quickly. What is your position on this?
 
I ran kerosene once, just long enough to ruin my burner pump and solenoid. I will never run it again.
