The last line really makes me wonder if those are Carlin's words. He was always an atheist.

Exactly!!! Anyone that has listened to a lot a George Carlin knows that he was an Atheist. Unless he found God in the recent past.

in his last special he ripped religion and God. Didn't say there was or wasn't a God just ripped the idea

I remember one of his shows in particular where he said he tried, really tried to believe in God, but that he ultimately just couldn't make since of it. Something along those lines.

Strangely enough, I'm reading three of Carlin's books collected in one volume right now. Very little of that rant fits him, but I'm only halfway through.

Did anybody see his last special, somebody here did. He was an altar boy, but thinks (as an adult) that churches are criminal.

Odd, I find it hard to write about him in the past tense.

I miss his clarity.

Saw a stand up comedy once, the comedian was telling about someone who just found God.
The person who just found God ran around exclaiming "I found God, I found God, I found God!"

The Comedian said "I didn't know God was LOST"
