HI I AM GOING TO LOOK AT A HOUSE THAT IS ALUMINUM SIDED AND I WAS WONDERING WHAT OTHER CLEANERS TO USE BESIDES WHAT I WASH WITH NOW I USE A 12.5%SODIUM HYPOCLORITE CLEANER NOW IT IS REAL GOOD WITH CLEANING MOLD AND MILDEW ON VINYL AND WOOD BUT HOW ABOUT ALUMINUM THANKS GLEN

It should be fine, but make sure the aluminum is not too heavily oxidized. If it is oxidized too much, you will never get a good consistent result.

Alum houses that are too far gone should only be power washed if it is going to then be repainted.

Also, use less pressure...........and perhaps a 40 degree tip.

if the siding just needs mold dirt and mildew removal, the usual housewash mix should do the job but most likely the paint has oxidized and turned chalky, in that case it could be a paint prep rather than a general wash.
a strong alkaline hydroxide application will help dissolve the oxidized paint and then break out your trusty extension pole or x-jet and go for it. afterwards neutralize and finalize with acid mix.

Thanks

I just washed the house today it came out pretty good it was not really chalky before I washed it and I really only needed to remove moss and dirt the paint on it was in pretty good condition and did not flake or anything when I was done it looked a little lighter but not chalky if I rubbed it with my finger I did not get white on it but it looked consistent through out the whole house overall it looked alot better then what he had but there was some black spots on the house that would not come off what is that is it oxidation coming through the paint it was in different spots around the house let me know what you think thanks for the replies guys I appreciate it Glen
