Alum. trailer

Getting ready to buy a new trailer and I'm considering going with aluminum. I know it's expensive but will never rust out. Does anyone have experience with or thoughts on the alum.

Jim I don't know if you use Sh....but I think SH will eat the alum. I know cattle haulers have used Alum trailers and after a few years the trailers get cracks and brakes from the urine. I would suggest steal with line x or power coating.

Many chemicals attack aluminum. Caustics, acids, SH will all eat it. A customer who cleans hoods bought a used U Haul truck with an aluminum floor. The hood cleaning chemical ate a hole right through it.

That's why I'm on here because I always get good info from you guys. Thanks for the info, and yes I do use a lot of SH, so alum. is probably not a good idea. I will be saving a lot of money going with steel anyway.

Roll a good thick truck liner on the floor and you will love it. Protects the wood too.....

So a product similar to Rhino lining will adhere to wood ? And for how long ?

I love the idea, if I had one rig an worked alone it would be aluminum coated with ryno.

That trailer would never go away.

We have line X on our trailer and trucks. Love the stuff. It does go dull after a year or two, but it is GREAT stuff.

We pay extra for double coat on our rigs. Rino, Line X or a off brand.... it's basically all the same stuff,

We also have powder coating of 4 mil to 5 mil thick. But when the coating scratches, you are done. Sure you can get some paint and touch it up, but it is not the same stuff. Line X, if you damage it, can be repaired.

Yup, after viewing your trailer Jim I've decided all my future rigs will be Rhino'd, Line X (whatever, you are right, its all the same stuff).
