Howdy. Adam here.

I've been self-employed for 20 years except for an extended hiccup during the recession. I've never been a dedicated pressure washer, but I usually have a little one that satisfies my needs. But, I recently bought a real dog at an auction, hoping that I could move into pressure washing a bit more seriously, enough to justify buying a decent machine. I'm getting old, and framing (carpentry) is not friendly to my old bones.

Anyway, my machine: It wouldn't start, so I didn't know if it ran. I paid too much for it, hoping that it could run. I got it running, but there was no water coming out the tip but plenty coming out the bottom of the head. I rebuilt the head and tinkered with the unloader. Water came out the right place, but the pressure seems low. It still needs o-rings in the connects, and a couple washers, but it seems to be coming along. I've got a few more parts on the way; new tips, pressure gauge, o-rings.

That's me. That's a little about my saga. Thanks for reading. I'm looking forward to learning about this trade.

Howdy....finally got my account set up on here! I'm Derrick, new to the industry and own Sentry Soft Wash in Houston. I look forward to learning from y'all and helping out wherever I can!

I’ve been running my own landscape maintenance business since retiring from the corporate world 15 years ago. I saw the potential to use my existing customer base as a way to expand my services to include house, roof, and surface cleaning. My business is part time and will remain that way. I’ve studied this business a lot, found local suppliers for chemicals and equipment, and I’m moving slowly into the business. Looking forward to advice and help from the knowledgeable folks on this forum!

Hi all. Jonathan Edmonson. I'm in central North Carolina. I started my pressure washing business in August of 2020. I'm currently part-time looking to transition out of my full-time job into PW'ing full-time. I really like working for myself and interacting with customers. I currently have a van setup with a 5gpm belt-drive, two hose reels, 16 WW Ultra, 35 gal buffer tank, X-Jet, and a drum of SH. I mostly use SH and EaCo Chem products but want to learn more about mixing my own chemicals for specialty stain removals and restorations. My desire long-term is to provide customer service second to none. I do residential now but would really like to get into commercial as I see a lot of neglected businesses in our area that are not being serviced or are being serviced poorly.

Hi all, I am just getting started so I may have a lot of questions. I am located in East Tennessee right at the base of the Great Smoky Mountains.
