All Jobs Are Different

Everyone experiences this situation You bid a job and maybe and they require more insurance, bonding ,background checks or even a drug check (Some of my accounts require it especially at the refinery's.) You either Comply or pass on the job. Also a hot topic is wastewater or Greywater issues.
,Now to the issue at hand I have always complied with the city of Houston and Dallas and other cities I work in.
The city Houston says if you use pressure washer (doesn't matter how many gallons per minute non heated) and no chemicals in the water you may put the water down the storm sewer providing you have filtered it correctly.( be happy to email anyone a copy from the city of Houston.)

Also if their is a job with the following statement : The washer must be able to collect and dispose of the matter without sending it down the sewer.
If you are interested and have all your insurance and etc. in order,
I would comply or Pass on the Job

I will be getting necessary permits as the job requirements change until than I will continue to use a subcontract company for disposal of gray water that has necessary permits and follows a city or companies regulations.
finally, sometimes statements about laws aren't always black and white as in this case :Houston now requires recovery anywhere on anything
This is not a accurate statement

Ok here is a question for you David....You are pressure washing a service station in houston with no chemicals or hot water ...Do you need to reclaim the runoff in Houston or can it drain into the storm sewer? Thx Gene

Just trying to help a new guy understand what the law says......Everyone has to learn what is right and what is wrong....

Gene I'll be happy to email doc city sent me i'll do it this evening
( I dont gas station so I cant answer that specific question)

Here is what you need to read David

Houston chose a different approach with literal interpretation of the Clean Water Act with an entire police unit (Major Offenders Division, Environmental Investigations Unit, Phone: 713-525-2728) dedicated to enforcement! Nothing down the drain but rain means no exceptions, not even one drop. Enforcement includes dye testing of drain covers for seepage under the covers, and not even tap water is allowed into the storm drains. Complete information is covered on the DVD made by Delco Cleaning Systems at the Houston Neighborhood Environmental Education Training (N.E.E.T.) Program: Power Washing on May 14, 2007.

Scott ...its possible some one else might be interested that you can legally
clean without hauling water (gray water}. I have read your post and eveyone else's for about 2 years....I'm assuming you're being Humorous... still, what if I posted this phrase (I see we are still kicking the poo out of this horse.) After you posted something you thought was important to you.......

Local and State govt can't make laws less stringent then Fed law. They can however make them more stringent. We fought the Civil War over that issue.

A City or State can tell you it's ok to dump process water (any water that goes through a mechanical device) to a storm drain. If that storm drain leads to a water of the United States it is a violation of the Federal CWA, period.

This topic have been covered ad-nauseum on this and several other boards.

David I dont usually get involved in the disagreements but wheather you know it or not you come across as a bit of a jerk, not saying you are but from day one you have been in some sort of on going confrontation with someone, there are better ways of discussion but to continue to put quotes in red-large letters is becoming distasteful. That being said please move on to another topic that does not upset you and let this one die.

God I don't want to drag this out but NO that's NOT what I'm saying.

What I'm saying is in every state in the US it is illegal to let your process water go into the waters of the US.

Doesn't matter if it's cold or hot, chemicals or no chemicals.

John I understand completely.. I just wanted someone else to say it
I could not have been able to say exactly what you said without starting a riot on myself..I fear my days are number here...For anybody ...everybody
the name of this forum is mindless Blabbering (see no red and no enlarge words)I have seen on this section people talk aboutr whats wrong with our goverment, people showing utube videos on stupid stuff and funny stuff but apparently ....these post are............

I will not use red quotes or raise letteringanymore I did'nt realize it was offending you or other people thanks David

David I was not trying to be humorous and if someone brought it to my attention that I was acting foolish over the same topic I might be inclined to drop it.
I mentioned yesterday that there was no need to waste bandwidth on this subject when you started a a branch of the Seven States thread about it.This is just another carry over from the Seven States thread.

If you would like to see the issue of enviro cleaning talked about without the need for reclaim I suggest you do a search of some of Ron's post made over the last year on the topic. This was a hot topic at the AL Rt and has been talked about a good bit since then.

This may be the mindless blabber forum, but this topic belongs in enviro. You come off looking like a crazy person when you continue to argue and bring up the same topic with any new info to add.
Admin (Russ) asked you to stop posting in bolded red letter and you replied to his request with bolded red letters. That amounts to an internet slap in the face.

Simply put...know what you need to do concerning enviro cleaning in your area to be legal. The biggest reason you have to live by such strict enviro rules is a distributor of reclaim equipment in your area helped write the regs for your area.
