I fyou cycle enough water through, you will not have that problem. If you are having a problem with it, I would drop pool chlorine tabs in the tank. I have never had a problem doing it this way. IF you are runing DI water, Algae will not grow, and if the tank does have algae, it will quickly go bye bye.
Well you could always go to the local aquarium supply and get a few plecos, snails and shrimp to eat the algae. It might even look kind of cool to show up with critters swimming around in your water tank?
Frequent water changes and higher temperatures will keep algae at bay. Also algae does not like the dark either. Same things apply to your fish tank; I know I just got some plecos, snails and shrimp to help clean mine up when it got away on me and I have more algae than fish by weight. All good now.
Why couldn't you just add a small amount of pool chlorine to the tank? That's what I do when I run reclaimed water, due to the sometimes odor, and the fact that I have no idea what's living in that water and don't want it to begin living on me.
It wouldn't be enough to harm any paint or your pump or anything like that.
you two must be the same person, I looked at other threads and ron has the ip that you have in this last post.
Coincidence? I think not. Scroll up and look at Ron's, it matches more than once. GOTCHA!!!
