How do you remove them David??

If the attachment screw is still attached, it can be loosened to remove easily. Some won't come off and others have to be muscled off with a wrench. Fortunately, there haven't been that many clogged ones in the past 4 years that won't provide a flow of at least 4-5 gpm.

Most of the ones I deal w the attachment screw is rusted and using a wrench requires so much force I am scared I will bust the whole bib off.

we all want to comply with city codes, but when city inspectors are jerks and act like tin gods
yelling and screaming at people, you get no where , bulling will get you nothing
to get respect you have to give respect if i had an empolyee act like
this inspector did they would be fired on the spot this inspector needs to be reprimanded for there actions to bad it was not recorded people act very different when they know they are being recorded dave

Just curious, will a 1 way check valve work as an air gap? And will the Hudson valve still work ? I use them in pool plumbing to help with drainage back to the pool from the spa.

Only the air gap will work as an air gap, you can deal with the city people or have them harass you or give you a fine or worse, it is your choice.

There are many inexpensive ways to get this done and it not be a big deal.
