Adobe Photoshop 7.0 for $44.95??

Mike

LOL Good Work.

I didn't get the popup, or I wouldn't have posted the thread.

It's just that I always thought that that program was $400 plus.
The OEM part is what still throws me.

Yea, but is a full version? Is it the latest version? Or are they on to 8.0 now.......?

Yeah it's probably a full version. I just didn't think before I got so excited. Adobe Photoshop is an expensive program.

They burn a bunch of copies of a program, and somehow get ahold of some OEM numbers. They probably put the same OEM number on about 20 copies before they go to the next number. It works until Adobe catches on (which is pretty fast), and then you lose your support privledges.

There is also no manual, but the internet is loaded with online tutorials.

Photoshop7 Full is a $700.00 program. They have Photoshop Elements, a vastly pared down version, for around $100.00, maybe a bit less....7 just came out a few months ago, so I don't think they are selling 8 quite yet. Full version for $35.00, something's wrong. There's no way they're selling it for that. That's 5% of the normal price. Even used without manuals it is worth much more than that.

Definitely worth having, however, if you do much photography or photo editing. I love it.

After looking at the website, I think it looks legit. As long as you get the activation codes you need. If I didn't already have it, I'd definitely spend the $40.00 to get it. Heck, if it doesn't work out, and you get ripped off, put it into dispute with the CC company. At $40.00 it is one hell of a deal.

"So who's gonna be the guinea pig that orders it?"

Wanna split one? You order, burn me one, and I'll send you $22.50 + postage.

I'm still gonna be amazed if it's a full 7.0, but I like to have company if I'm gonna get screwed.

I don't doubt it is the full version. It looks like someone got ahold of a bunch of OEM versions of the software real cheap, maybe from a computer manufacturer, or maybe even from Adobe if they had a large overstock.

Heck, if you get screwed, just dispute it with the CC company and get your money back. No real risk here.

I got this thing in the mail the other day but have not installed it yet.

It says it is "not registerable" and includes a serial number for you to use.

Sounds shady, but I'll give it a try. (no time soon, really busy with work right now).

If it doesn't work they have a "CRACK" for the program.

Guys ever wonder what else these bootlegs are putting onto the CDs?

Spy programs, virus, a number of other bad things tha are hard to find.

Did you ever think that if it not a legal copy you could also be sued for having it on your computer.

Not trying to scare anyone away from buying one, just remember the saying:

"BUYER BEWARE".

Jon:

While there ARE bootleg copies of this and many other programs readily available through various file sharing services, this doesn't appear to be bootleg. Rather, it looks like someone has gotten a bunch of OEM copies of the software dirt cheap. Nothing illegal about that as far as I know.

You DO have to be very careful about what you download from file sharing services such as Kazaa, including software "cracks". Best to keep your virus and spybot software very up to date.

Try this website for serial numbers and lots more. if you can find them its great. some are time sensitive numbers though.

good luck,
