A sad day at the Phelps house

We lost our little boxer named Roxy this morning. She had been sick for a few weeks and losing weight. Apparently some sort of bacterial infection was causing her liver to fail. This has been a very difficult day, as we have no children and our three dogs are our immediate family. She was 9 years old and a very special little lady.

I'm sorry for your your loss.

Hello Don,

I feel your pain. My wife has had House Rabbits for many years. Each time she/we loose one it is really hard and a very sad time in our house!

Here is a link to one of her Bunny Pages. http://www.tps-inc.com/petunia.htm

Oh Don - I am so sorry. Our boxer, Jake just turned 8 last week...I don't know what I'll do when he goes! Love your other two babies!

Thanks for all the kind and caring words from everyone. Dave's link to Petunia's site brought some smiles and laughter to my wife and I.

Roxy had a fever last night and was lying on the loveseat so I slept on the couch to stay with her. I checked on her around 3:30 AM and she was hanging in there. I woke up at 5 and she had just gone. Going to wake my wife and tell her the news was one of the hardest things I've ever done. She's not hurting anymore and we just feel so privileged to have such a sweet, almost human little lady in our lives for as long as we did.

She's the best! :)

Don, sorry to hear of your loss! We had a dog that we treated just like our child and when she passed away it was extremely hard on us, so I know what you are going through. Our thoughts are with your family. Hugh Gibson
