A little water leaking

I have a small amount of water leaking from my TS 2021 between the head and the main body will replacing the low pressure seal o-rings solve that problem or is another seal or o-ring?

Could also be a cracked piston. If you're going to replace a seal or two, install the whole seal kit (#69) and the seal retainer o rings (90361600)

I just put a new seal kit in back in February, I have put about 700 hrs on it since. But I will check the plungers for cracks when I put the new seal kit in.

Pump Inspection Check List

700 hours !??..
check for leaks in the supply line, partially plugged or "calcified" filter,
Whenever you take the head off the pump..inspect EVERYthing..
in n out play on the plungers, check for cracks in the plungers, seal retainers,
AND the head under the valve seats, etc..
put a copy of this in your tool boxes..

In & Out:
Up & Down:

Valves-
if you suck on them, do they bleed ?
Valve seat O-rings-
are they flattened or worn ?

Valve Caps:
are they chipped or cracked ?

Head issues-
are there cracks under the valve seat O-rings?

Brass Retainers-
Cracks?
Scratches?
Wear marks n scars (from piston slop)?

I put the new seal kit in with out the o-rings. No more leaks but the crankcase does have some wear around where the seal retainer sits. Do you think this is the last rebuild for this pump? Does it becomes a paper weight? Everything else seems to be up to snuff.

Yeah, it probably won't last long. When the seals wear excessively, the whole stack loosens up and chatters back and forth in the bore. The brass slams into the aluminum 1450 times a minute like a little jackhammer. When it beats it up far enough, the seal retainer can move back far enough to expose the o ring and it leaks or sucks air.

IMO, a pump should be rebuilt every 1,000 hours whether it needs it or not.

Thanks for the great info Russ. Much appreciated.
