A Bad Day

i clean vent hoods for a chain of stores.. I also clean there concrete and do the fire system inspection.. When I was cleaning the hood everything was fine , but once I was asked to clean the concrete and take the account from one of the manager's spouses the poo hit the fan.

It seems that now this manager that is over 4 stores has gotten her feelings hurt because her husband is no longer doing the concrete cleaning. I personally don't care whether he does it or not. However he uses 2 cold water machines and no surface cleaner.. They Just Cant Clean as well as my machine and The Chemicals I use are alot better. I feel bad for this lady and I hate hurting her feelings , but the facts remain that the top boss guy wanted me to clean the concrete..along with the vent hoods and fire inspections as a all in one price deal.

I was also told that I should do everything possible to make this paticular manager happy. I bet the concrete will never be clean enough ... And I am in for alot of return calls.

I guess I have learned a lesson
1) The Right Machinery and Chemicals pay off
2) Never let personal get in the way of business
3) Apperance is everything..
By this I mean if you pull up in a car and pull your pressure washer out of your trunk , and the pull out a couple gallons of store bought bleach you will probably not have the job long, once someone with a larger pressure washer and the right cleaning equipment comes along.
4) It's a cruel cruel World
5) If you ever don't clean everything the other guys used to clean you will get called back and end up spending more money on gas and chemical than what you make.
6) Always take before and after pictures
7) When you are involved in a company quarrel always take 3 deep breaths before you open your mouth, and try hard not to say much.
8) Never let time be a factor in cleaning , because you will not do a good job. Manage your time wisely..
9) When you step on someones toes their other foot will usually kick you in the butt.
10) Most Important .... Do your Best and learn to live with disappointment.

Sounds like a good day John. Better than loosing the last bid you put in? I think so.
Great advice by the way.
CHEERS Goat.

Good advice for sure, but the most important item has been omitted. In respect to the 'area manager' or 'district manager' you must, above all else - never, ever let them see you praying for their death.
