8gpm @ 3000 or 8gpm @3500 psi?

Looking to buy a cold water 8gpm and was hoping for opinions on whether I should go for the Honda gx630 or gx690 with the general pump.

I have been washing for a few years with a 5.5gpm @2500 and have never really needed any more pressure for the things I normally I wash.
I am mainly residential with some building washes and a good bit of residential concrete.

Just wanted to see if others think the difference is worth the cost or if any with that combination wish they would have went with the bigger motor.

Any opinions or thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

I asked the same question to myself the other day and for me the decision was easy: 8 gpm @3,500 psi. I clean a lot of concrete in addition to a lot of soft washing. I will be buying this setup prior to the spring busy season. I mean, if it's within a $100 or $200 apart, having the extra psi would be nice should you get a large concrete job and well worth it IMO.

I don't think it will make any difference.

Every one has their opinion. I say go with the GX690. Better to have a little more and not need it than to need it and not have it!

That's a good model for plenty of choices. In this case, get the 690 & dial it down if nec. If not, the minute you need 3500, your entire investment will be worthless.

I totally agree Rance and with what Jay said. Also there will be psi drop from hose length and down streamer so the extra 500 psi could balance this out.

Don't let $500 be a factor in choosing equipment that will make many, many times that amount in profits.....Just Saying.
