What is the best prices that you guys have found on the 300' steel eagle and cox hose reels. I would prefer stainless steel and they need the locking pin on them. What would you guys prefer steel eagle or cox?

If I were you I would get it from Pete, even if it is a few dollars more. There is no greater value than having a local vendor to take care of you if something happens.:meeting:

I just went with the Hannay 12 volt electric reels, which will hold up to 400' of 3/8" hose @ 5000 psi. Think I paid about $500 each.

I have 2 of the hannay reels that are about 2 years old and love them. I also have 2 cox reels that are much older but still work. The hannay reels are built much better. Although the new cox reels may be built better than they used to be. I have 4 or 5 rappid reels. They were cheap to buy. But you get what you pay for. Some of them are litterely falling apart.

Hannay reels are the best by far!

My 2 Cents

We have Cox 1/2 hp non explosive motors. I always had Cox. The welds are good and the gauge is good.

We still have our wind up reels from 20 years ago. Still cranking those by hand. Shoot, we one time had the hose ( Which we were dragging with the truck ) get caught around a bend in the garage. That reel stopped our truck @ 8k and the 12k trailer going down the ramp at 3 MPH. No problems to the reel. Thats 20 k !

In my book, that is a good reel.

Thats my 2 cents !

If it was between those two brands, I would pick the Steel Eagle. Lot better quality.
