Do not give up your second amendment right. It is one of the few you have left in this country. I am a Licensed Handgun Instructor in the State of Tennessee..

I can assure you the actions you see him display are in real time and are not trick photography. I was hand picked to be in the class. That is one thing I do miss about not being in Tennessee any longer. God wiling, when I recover from surgery I can start back teaching classes again in Georgia.
 
being here in New Zealand I struggle to understand the fascination the US has for guns. Don't get me wrong we have firearms here as well because w have some of the most pristine hunting country in the world but that said given the tragedies that take place in the US with mass shootings please explain to me why you would encourage the ownership of such a weapon. I must say it is nicely packaged for your average off his face student to carry to college with him and it would be hardly noticed. Could be a musical instrument to all intent and purpose.
 
The large guns are for target shooting. They are overkill for sport. I believe everyone that can legally own a handgun should. You can call 911 but chances are they will only get to the scene in time to put up the yellow crime scene tape.

You are hugely mistaken my NZ brother. Guns save lives! Every day, across the US and the world. Lives are saved and property is protected, MILLIONS of times a year here - that's a fact (that our 'media' doesn't like). Now, the blood of more than 100 MILLION unarmed souls cries from the ground, killed in the 20th century, not by war but governments and police.

If one only looks at one side - such as doctors kill thousands - reality is missed.

The revolutionary war was won partly because of the fact that from the age of 5 or so most children were taught to use and respect firearms and life. The militia were hitting targets more than twice the distance the redcoats could because of this training.

Yet there were few if any instances of accidental deaths with children and murder with guns was rare. Most accidental deaths were the result of inferior designs of weapons in those days.

There is no excuse for the killing we see in the US today other than the sad fact that we have failed to teach our generations of the respect for firearms AND life.

It is the law of averages. The population of New Zealand is comparable to the metropolitan area I live in, and we are only the fifthe largest city in the U.S. The total population is about 4.5 million in Phoenix. In the U.s. on a whole there are about 314 million people. Just in shear numbers we are about 100 times more likely to have murders that are reported. Couple that with the melting pot of races that choose to feel persecuted and picked on, and there is a high likelihood that someone is going to come uncorked.
What it really boils down to, though, is that our founding fathers granted us the right to bear arms, and we don't roll over like he citizenry of some countries.
Incidentally, about half of the worst mass shootings have happened in countries with varying degrees of gun control, including New Zealand. All combined, the population of the other countries where this has happened approaches the population of the United States.
 
Sadly I have to admit that NZ is fast becoming a place where we may need the right to bear arms. Our own Native population has a huge bug up it's collective ass and are always crying hard done by. Our government hands them out billions of dollars in appeasement money and still it is not enough. The possibility of civil war is quite on the cards. It's a sad state of affairs we project a 'clean green image to the world' which is fine on a tourism front but there is a huge amount of racial unrest here. It is not the full blood natives that are having issues as there are none left due to intermarriage from 200years ago, it's the mixed blood natives that have no Iwi or tribe that they can affiliate with. unfortunately they project a poor me image to everyone and it's every one else's fault. We had our own mass shooting in Aramoana some years ago and it shocked the country. HOW COULD THAT HAPPEN HERE blah blah blah!!! sadly the environment is ripe for it to happen again and it will be a race based shooting. You want to know the real sad thing ?? Our government has it's head in the sand and don't want to know about it.
 
Swift justice for those who harm others,
Less interference with those who choose to harm themselves,
More freedom to protect ourselves,
Less handouts for those who refuse to submit to employment,
and a stronger respect for human life rather than the obsession with animal and plant life,
Are the only things that can turn both our countries around
