11hp no spark sometimes

I bought a chinese 11hp recoil motor for $199 a few years ago and hooked it up to a gear drive cat pump $399. Its been a good rinser until recently. Every now and then, It will not start. No spark. I'll roll it back up, head down the road and an hour later, it will fire right up and run for hours. I cant understand why it wont get spark sometimes but sometimes it will.

Does it start ok cold, then refuse to start hot? Does it quit running on you, or do you shut it off? Could be the switch, might be the coil breaking down. Ive got both here if you need either. Easy way to check the switch...when it won't start, unplug the wire going to the switch. If it starts, there ya go. If it still won't, possibly the coil. Another possibility is the spark plug boot. Like Honda, there's a resistor built into the boot. If you have a multimeter, you can check the parts individually. Resistance should be as follows:

Spark plug cap - 7.5 - 12.5 k ohm

Ignition coil:
Primary (where the kill wire hooks up) to coil body - 0.8 - 1.0 ohm
Secondary (spark plug wire without cap) to coil body - 5.9 - 7.1 k ohm

Hmm, definatly not the switch then, tried unplugging it. Nothing. I need a multimeter. Thanks you da man.

oh sorry, no it sometimes wont start at all, then sometimes, after hot, it wont start then either. Never dies on its own though just after turning it off, it wont fire back up. I usually give up and a day or two later, it will work again. Wierdest thing. I hadnt been able to get it to run since Sunday. No spark.

Just looked at my records and the motor was bought Jan. of last year not a few years ago. So, its relatively new.
