10 gpm

When running 10 GPM on my 20" surface cleaner, it seems as though it spins so fast it's leaving swirls (not stripes). So I have to slow down. But slowing down defeats the purpose of being able to move faster with the extra volume. Using 15 deg nozzles and a 2 nozzle-1 bar arm inside.
Would switching to a 3 bar/3 nozzle arm or a 1 bar/4 nozzle arm help?

Yes - 3 bars would be better, 4 bars would be best. Are you able to adjust the 'tilt' of the nozzles? You will need to to get the proper speed. 5 gpm blasting out of each nozzle is too much in my opinion, too rough on the cement. With 4 bars you will have double the 'sprays per minute' of a two bar.

Tom, what brand of spray bar is your 4 nozzle spray bar?

Its a mosmatic 4 bar spindle, tapped to 1/4" pipe thread from the metric straight threads. The spindle only comes with the 2 short - 2 long bars, I use all one length. 1/4" pipe is way sturdier and easy to replace.

Is that a 24" bar, 30" bar Tom? I should have asked you.

Thanks.

Loctite blue, red or teflon tape to keep the pipes in the manifold?

Thanks Tom.

So I need a 3 or 4 bar arm and switch to 25 or 40 deg nozzles correct?

You'll be amazed at the difference, but the bar speed is critical - you have to be able to tilt the nozzles to change it.

I have the plastic card that came with the Steel Eagle surface cleaner. I guess that would be a good starting point for the adjustment on the spray bars.

Thanks Tom.

Run Faster!! Seriously I would go to a 4 nozzle bar and go 2.5 25deg.

It's a BE surface cleaner. I'm pretty sure I can get a 3 arm bar but not sure about the 4. Not sure about tilting the nozzles either. I don't even want to try to attempt it on my sirocco.

People do it everyday. Big guys have their place but not on a lot of my jobs. The centers we clean have so many columns, concrete trash receptacles etc. The 20" maneuvers around everything where as a big guy can't. Did i mention dumpster pads?
We would have more time edging than surface cleaning.

Yeah I understand. Just try a little larger orifice to drop the pressure some and a 40 degree fan tip.
