What makes the best water fed pole?

It's one of those questions where you have manufacturers come out with ratios and numbers. Some just claim to be the best. Others just keep doing what they've always done and let the end user determine the issue. Are their ways a beginner can make a good choice they won't regret? Here are some...

I'm sure there will be a few that will ask - why a new forum, don't we have enough already? While it may seem that way there are some some features that will be part of Window Cleaning Institute that may change your mind. I've addressed them in my latest blog. I'm happy to say that the new...

Facebook plugins - who owns them?

There is an ongoing battle between the WCR guys and Phil Alexander over his use of Facebook to reply to posts on WCR. They have banned him from their forum but with the FB plugin he can read and reply to any post there. They claim it's their property and so he shouldn't post there but is it...

    How cold can you go?

Here in the Midwest we are getting nights well below freezing and for those of us who use a pure water system it can be a challenge to get the last couple weeks out of our season. Here's a video that may give you second thoughts about when to hang it up.

    Which is better?

Just like pressure washing depends on good flow to accomplish a solid clean so too water fed pole cleaning requires flow over pressure. That's not to say that pressure isn't important but too much and it's self defeating. I did a video to show that point.

Have you seen this window issue?

Customer education is vital as a window cleaner. To do that though we need to recognize common window issues. I ran across one today and did a quick video on it.

    Flow or pressure?

Something pressure washing contractors are very aware of is that flow trumps pressure. With pure water cleaning that principle is the same. When cleaning a window using a water fed pole you need good flow from your brush to aid in loosening the dirt off the glass and then flushing it off the...

Who else has an Aqua Dapter?

In case you don't know an Aqua Dapter is a way to control the flow on your water fed pole. I got one of the first models sent to the US by this UK based company. After fitting it to my Gardiner CL-X I immediately fell in love with how easy it was to use. There are now many other flow control...

It ain't clean till the sills are done.

That was a phrase another window cleaner used to tell me why he felt water fed pole cleaning wasn't as good as getting on a ladder. Well with the quality of sill brushes for water fed poles out now that isn't an issue now. I've used a few and I think I've found the best yet.
