Fuel usage

I'm in the market for a hot water machine between 4 to 6 gpm(you guys convinced me from a previous post) and was wondering how much fuel it takes to run a full 8 to 10 hour day.

I know what the salesmen claim but I want real world numbers,no fluff.Gas for the machine and Diesel for the burner.How much do you burn?

I had a 5.2 GPM skid, and it consumed about 1 gallon of gas per hour and 2 gallons of diesel per hour.

Engine, 1 - 1.5 gph depending on horsepower.
Burner, 1.5 - 2.5 gph depending on flow, thermostat setting, and gun time.

Thank you for posting that qeustion. I was thinking of asking the same thing know can I ask 2 part question.
1. do you charge for gas used on a job.
2. is how do you figer out how much soap you use on job before you running out

I use to much Fuel... Dang everytime I turn around gas for this , gas for that..The new subaru motor on my machine drinks alot more gas than my honda 13hp did.. I think the honda could run almost 2 hours on a full tank of gas but the subaru only runs about an hour and a half.. Now for the diesel burner on my machine It will do about 5 jobs on 50.00 dollars worth of diesel... This is crazy... I filled up the diesel tank on my whitco yesterday and noticed diesel was 3.75 per gallon .. Cost me like 50.00 ... What the heck happened... maybe we need another independent truckers strike to get the cost of diesel down.. Oh well... I guess in short my whitco machine on a full weeks work probably uses 200.00 in gas and diesel.

My 13 hp honda will run right at 3 hrs on a tank,it must be a 1.5 gallon tank.

Chris,My fuel and cleaner price are included in my prices.Cleaner usage will come with time and experience,but I will tell you always carry more than you need.

I'm with you John fuel is getting ridiculous,but what can you do besides pull up and fill up,they have us by the short ones.

Cajun thank you for the nswer I still trying to get wet behind the ears but it is hard for the new guys in florida that is not trying to low ball anyone. I gave price quote for 1100 feet of flashing and very small deck I still think came in low at $266 for the job he wanted it done for 150 told him no thank you I donnot need the job that bad.

Just figure around 750 with heat and hour
