I’m considering starting a medium-sized construction project and weighing whether to hire individual subcontractors or go with a general contractor. I’ve heard mixed opinions, so I wanted to ask this community:
what do you think are the true advantages of general contracting? From what I understand, it can save time, reduce stress, and streamline communication, but are there hidden drawbacks or extra costs to be aware of?
I’d love to hear real experiences, both positive and negative, from anyone who has managed projects through a general contractor.
