Predator engine trouble

I have a 6.5hp predator engine that I am having some issues with. When I first start it in the morning it runs great for 15-20 min, then starts to sputter for a while then dies. After the first time it dies it only takes a couple of minutes before it starts to sputter and die.

Faulty fuel cap? Maybe take and loosen the fuel cap on it and see if it keeps running, the vent could be bad on it.

That was the first thing I though of, didn't work.

Water in the gas? does it run on half choke?

Yes it will run off of half choke for a little bit.

Had the same issue this morning, then I noticed my gas cap was off. It rained over he weekend so that was the problem.

It sounds like the carb might need to be taken apart and cleaned.

Yes, I actually do lol. It's a challenge for me to see if I can get things fixed or working better than they were before. Plus it helps release stress from the day to day business.
