Belt sanders on decks

On average, how many sq ft are you guys getting out of a single sanding belt when doing decks? I'm looking at picking up a 3x18 inch belt sander and am trying to figure how much work I'll get out of each belt. Thanks a lot guys.

Don,t try sanding a deck with a 3x18 belt sander...Rent a drum sander from Home Depot or others. Not too many decks need sanding.......

I was considering that option, as well. Which would be better, a drum sander or the big orbital walk behinds? I've used a big orbital, but never a drum sander.

I prefer the walk behind drum sander.......
