well, seems like the correct spot and heading so i will resurrect this one to ask my question...whisper wash classic..how the ffffffff do you get the bearings outta that bitch ...i got the collar with all the alan screws off and removed the c clip fastener but those bearings are absolutely seized in there.. can i smash the top of the shaft with a screw driver and force them out that way..didnt want to use much force when i atttempted it previously..triyng not to blow russ's phone up too much already pestered the hell outta him working on my whirl a way...anybody know what im talking about?

DO NOT BEAT ON THE SHAFT! If you do, it will bend and be useless. Saturate the hell out of it with penetrating oil, let it sit, and try again tomorrow.

The bearings need to be pressed off so you can press on the new bearings but clean up the shaft when the bearings are off and check for nicks and scratches that can damage the seal.
Instead of buying a press and doing it myself I send them out and have them rebuilt.

i feel the need to tinker with things all the time. i pulled this one out of a barn, and i love breaking stuff so i dont mind the possibility of destroying it...lol. well crap i have access to a press, but am wondering if that is needed i did manage to pick alot of the bad bearing out, thanks for the penitrating tip, wd40 just wasnt doing the job
so im confident ill manage to remove the rest when i have the time, but one more ? the literature says to put locktite on the outside of the bearing. is this practiced? or just recommended? im kinda missing the point in that being there is fastener clips on both top and bottom of the shaft, seems like it is what made it miserable for me to remove in the first place.
