Tapered Shaft Mod ??

The generator engines with the tapered shaft can be had for a steal, anyone ever adapted one to a pulley? I know it is done and there are pulley adapters out there. What are taperlock brand pulleys?
 
Can't say as I've ever seen one. A tapered bushing would limit the shaft area you could use unlike a regular pulley that will go anywhere on the shaft.
 
I have 2 generator engines in my shop, and I have tried this before with no luck?

Yeah, that's where I am now. Got my Dad's arrangements taken care of and his possessions gone through today with my brother, have to visit a few people tomorrow, drive back Monday, and back to work Tuesday. It's about a 12 hour drive.
