I got a call from a gated community to bid on cleaning about a 2 miles worth of curbs along the main street. I was wondering if anyone had any tips on estimating a job like this. Any replys would be most appriciated.

thanks so much for the info. i was going to price by the foot rather a set price so i could show them how i got my amount, but i have problem coming up with a reasonable price per foot. I just dont want to come in way to high or leave money on the table. Would you mind explaining what you mean by my business model?

Only you know what you need to make a good profit for your business..

Just to look at it from a different angle... Would yall rather someone go and price something low as hell not knowing any better? What if they think they can do it for $50 bucks an hour and make a killing? While screwing someone who knows better out of a job.

I worry about this a lot when I price jobs. I think I over compensate on the high side though!

You can either do the pricing base on the footage or another way to do it if your experienced enough is to figure how many hours the whole job will take then figure how much an hour you want to make to be as profitable as you can be without breaking the bank or not charging enough. Just never tell your potential customer what you hourly wage you came up with in your head is. They want a price for the whole job so give them that and write it up on the estimate sheet as professional as you can.

Good Luck
