Backache Prevention???

Stretching before will go along way to alleviating injuries.

Yep,

Stretching, Before and after every day, will help.

Losing weight if you think you need to, will take a ton of pressure off your back, Did you know that people who are not overweight, when they bend over they are putting over 1500 lbs of pressure on there lower back? Can you imagine if you are 50lbs over weight.

Find soles or shoes that support the pressure points in your feet.

And lastly a good nights rest

All the recommendations sound great,

I have hurt my back sometime in the past and did not know it until march 2008.

Inversion is great relief on the spinal column. & Exercise. If you perform a great deal of gum removal a custom length wand for your height would be the best, a premium relax gun, 3/8 swiveled whip, and interchange operators. Sometimes we push ourselves until we break (I know i have).

Other than extending the life of the quick connects, how does the 3/8 swiveled whip help out an operator? Is it worth the $25-$30 to buy one? I also need to buy a good relax gun...any suggestions as I normally buy the cheaper guns? Thanks again.

I have an inversion table, those are great! I hardly ever use it because of my number bed, they really are great and make a huge difference!

If I do something to hurt my back or pull a muscle, I will do the inversion table several times then good sleep on the number bed saves a trip to the chiropractor.

David , again it all comes down to preference and the amount of stress you put on the body.

Simple little things like flow unloaders reduce body fatigue/stress. The swivel would aid in fighting the hose coiling. I say 3/8 because I use 1/2" hose and a 1/2" whip and that is heavy. I will switch to 3/8" in the future. I also wear a heavy lifting broad belt, it helps me a great deal since my abdominal muscles are week compared to my upper body strength.

I think I see Paul of envirospec sporting a Hi-tech 4100 gun in a video at PWNA. It is a super easy pull.

I don't like the Mosmatic swivel, I like the brass swivel better.

With the swivel it helps to keep your hoses from getting tangled up, not 100% perfect but it does help a lot.

When your hoses get tangled up, just pull the gun outward and maybe a little twist and the hose gets untangled.

The Suttner easy pull trigger gun is a good one, I have a couple of them and they are good.

I dont have the table Chris I do an half inversion off my counter top. I also have found myself pumping up on "Triple Flex" by Natures Made. it does help my joints and,...... I have to reduce my acid intake and drink way more water

Staying hydrated with Water is a huge help for your joints, they say you should drink at least 8 big glasses of water a day.

You flatwork guys should try this before the job to limber up!!

You can have one of us (distributors) make a custom length lance out of sinc plated steel, aluminum or stainless, insulated or not and maybe a custom bend at the bottom. ...Just my thoughts Lori

Mosmatic makes a gum removal attachment for their surface cleaner. You can put it on the end of a wand and reduce your time. (It is a bit pricey)
