New Low in Lowballing

Carolina Prowash

Exterior Surface Pros
This is a job that a couple of us bid on in SC earlier this year - A CARPET CLEANER WITH A PAINTER SUB did the work. Wow - video speaks for itself

Thanks to Micah & Len for following up - which we are not done following up FYI :)

OOPS! Looks like I missed a few spots. :slap:

I'll have to admit that is shoddy work, with the exception of the gutters being full. If they didn't pay to have them cleaned out I would leave it also. That being said: Who has enough time to go behind and look at other peoples work? Much less take time to video it. Not knocking what your doing if your slow, but my take on hacks and lowballers is "who cares". I let them do their thing and I do mine. I don't care what they charge or the kind of work they do. Maybe I should, I just can't bring myself to care.

Hey William,

It was me who shot the video. The reason why I took the video was because I would like to compile enough information, like video and pictures, to be able to show to property managers and like the difference between hiring the lowest bidder and hiring a contractor who is qualified to do the job.

I pass by this apartment complex at least twice a week, so it didn't take much time to take the video either.

We are up in arms a bit because of the ridiculous amount of time invested in this bid by us in conjunction with Len.....It was considerable and our proposal was spot on, very professional and outlined what needed to be done. Clearly they weren't looking for professional quality results as evidenced by the video. This is EXACTLY the type of mentality that needs to be fixed. The job was done by a CARPET company. WTF? It says pressure washing under their services in one little spot on their multi-page carpet cleaning website! We should have called OSHA out on them - we have some pretty bad pictures of their precarious balancing acts while staining. The whole thing was a crock of crap

As far as time to follow up - this one is particularly important because it shows exactly what you get when you hire an unqualified contractor. (Not to mention, Len keeps trying to prep decks to stain guaranteeing rain for their area!)

I guess, I am not in the market of fixing mentality, I just wash things:sarcastic: I have some apartments that pay to have just the siding done and no horizontal surfaces or railings, some want it all/ I do whatever they want to pay for. Be curious to know what they paid to have cleaned. I bid on about 70 of those a year and do about 45 or so. Tell Roger thanks for the info on the deck today. I owe him a steak.

Well here's more of the deal - the complex paid a low-quality person LAST year and this year wanted things done "right"........nothing this carpet cleaner did was right. We know specifically what the scope of work was and what you see in that video and in upcoming pics did NOT meet the scope unless you are blind.

Still

PS - You have no idea how Roger loves his meals - he WILL be there to collect :)
