Thank GOD we exited at Polk City to get Cigarettes !!!
On the way back onto 1-4 , we counted 11 State Cops waiting to POUNCE on uinsuspecting motorists.

Back in my college/just got married/just had a kid days I lived in Plant City and worked at Labor Ready (or whatever it was called down there then) sorting oranges every day at an orange juice factory for food money right before I started college in St. Pete. We were living with relatives and I had to drive about 10 miles or so to the temp agency every day.
I had just bought a used car for $1200 in Mississippi where they give you a bill of sale from the dealership and no temp tags and tell you that you have to wait 30 days till your paperwork comes in the mail to register it.
I moved to Florida the next day.
I tried to get a temp tag in Florida the first day. They wouldn't give it to me without the paperwork from Mississippi and told me I couldn't drive it in Florida until I got the paperwork. I asked them how I was supposed to get to work because I was living 10 miles in the boondocks and the only other driver in the house worked weird hours and I couldn't use their car. They told me "tough".
I didn't have a choice. I had to feed my family so I just put my paperwork in the windshield and went to work. On the 3rd day I got pulled over and tried to explain again. No luck, pulled over by a dumb*ss. The next day. I was the dumb*ss, took the same route and got another ticket from the same *sshole. Next two days I took a different route about 5 miles out of the way. Third day *sshole was waiting, another ticket. All in all I got 9 tickets before my paperwork came in.
I went to court and tried to argue my case that I was more than willing to pay a fee to drive on Florida roads for that one month, but no one was willing to take my money. The judge couldn't hear me because the rectum tightly stretched around his head prevented hearing me.
I got over $1000.00 in fines.
I never paid a single one of them.
Flash forward to about 12 years ago, here in Nevada. I was forced to drive a van with missing paperwork for a year, (delivering dry cleaning) The first time I got pulled over the cop didn't give me a ticket, but rather gave me a supervisors name at the DMV that could get me a temp tag to cover me until the title was fixed.
And, by the way, I've been pulled over twice with warnings here in 12 years. Both times (2 separate cops) told me that, as a rule they don't generally ticket guys who are in work trucks unless it's something really major. (That's Las Vegas, not Henderson, I think they are different.)

In less than four weeks we had THREE accidents caused by cops running red lights or speeding, both with no lights or sirens. One was going 109 mph in a 45 mph zone and killed himself and almost killed the innocent driver. They had days and days of tv news talking about what a great guy the cop was and broke in to programs all day to show his funeral.
If it had been any of us we would have been vilified and they probably would have been all over the TV talking about the need for more cops to stop potential killers like us.
Last year a Highway patrol guy here rear ended a family of 5 at 110 mph on the interstate at night. They were going about 60 and it killed almost all of them. No lights, no sirens. Why was he going so fast? To get home and study because he had a test the next day.
Yet all they do is back each other up.
The guy who was going 109 had another officer behind him going the same speed, yet, instead of him speaking up and admitting to the speed, he let them arrest the innocent driver and accuse him of drunk driving till the blood test proved he had a BAL of less than .02. It was five days later and 5 eyewitnesses raising hell before the police finally admitted that AFTER EXTENSIVE FORENSIC TESTING IT WAS DETERMINED THAT HE WAS GOING 109 WITH NO LIGHTS OR SIRENS.
Why did they need testing? The other cop was right behind him and saw the whole thing. He even sat up there crying at the losers funeral saying he saw the whole thing and was right behind him.
The case was made that he was responding to a call from a kid that her stepfather was beating her. What possible reason would they have to want to run with no lights and sirens more than 5 miles from the "supposed" crime scene. The 911 call was later proven to be a prank from the kid. (no charges there either)
My uncle was sheriff of a town for 28 years. I grew up with them. They all think they can do anything they want simply because they have the law behind them.
I've listened to them talk at parties about beating blacks and how funny it looked to see a jaw break.
I ran two of the scumbags out of my house for talking that kind of crap when they came out here for a wedding of one of my wife's friends.

Last January my wife totalled out her suburban when she hit a cop in the left rear quarter panel. Was she speeding? no. The cop was making a illegal U Turn on a blind curve just as she was coming around it. No tickets were issued. I wish they would have issued one so we could have had our day in court. As it is NY is a NO FAULT state. so if she doesn't have any permanent injuries. THE scum cop walks scot free

My ex took off with my Kid from Seattle, moved to Reno.
The FBI finally found her, 3 years later.
She was arrested, and I flew out from Seattle to get my Son, armed with a Washington State custody order.
Basically, Nevada told me to get Funked
They refused to honor the custody order from Washington State!
My poor kid would have been placed in foster care in Reno for a year while I fought for my Boy
I capitulated to save my Son the trauma of seperation from his Mom.

Cops are NOT needed as much as we THINK ?
It shoulkd be Mandatory that every American receive Gun Training, and a Tax Break given to EVERY American that packs a piece!
Once Criminals KNOW for sure that almost everyone has a Gun, and Knows how to use it, crime rate will Drop like a blown tire.

I just got back from Disney World and you are correct.....there were cops/police/state troopers....what ever on the highways in Fl everywhere...most of them in pairs if not in 3's.......it was like they were on a guided hunt or something..
Luckily I got thru all of them at speeds of 75 to 85 mph and didnt get stopped.

We can't cut the money off because they have too many people fooled into believing that society would break down if there wasn't a cop on every corner.
I can't stand them. People always tell me things like, "you won't feel that way if you ever need one". Well, I'm almost 44 years old and I haven't ever "needed" one yet. How long do I have to wait?
3 years ago a lady hit my wife's van, the lady tried to drive off but her fuel cut-off shut the engine down because of the accident.
Seconds later a truck hit the lady from behind at 45 mph with no brakes. The ambulance showed up in 8 minutes. We called the police every 30 minutes asking when the would be there.
Two cops got there in 3 hours 45 minutes. It was 108 degrees that day and the police station told us we all had to just stand there and wait. This was right in the middle of Las Vegas.
I just try to avoid any involvement with cops, courts, government grants, loans, etc. When dealing with them they represent the lowest common denominator of intelligence in our society.

Hey Tony, Tell me how you really feel, don't hold back. BTW. I pretty much agree with you. It used to be that cops were the first line of justice, Now they are the first line of revenue collection

This will sound like conspiracy theory, but I bet the cops are being told to increase the number of tickets they give out to make up for less tax money. Think about it---less tourists, spending less money, everyone making less money, GDP going down = less tax money. Easy way to make some of it up? Have the police take it from you.
AppleMan---weren't you preachin' the word for Obama just a few months ago? While I can't blame him for EVERY thing wrong in the world, erosion of freedom is the core premise of his life. Think about it---everything he supports (welfare, univ. health care, stimulus, etc) is essentially a way to remove your freedom and put it in the govt's hands.
Off the subject, but that is the path back into the light for conservatism. It isn't fighting abortion, trying to get a 5% reduction in taxes, etc.......the path back is by hammering the point that we are becoming "not free". I won't say slaves, but we are losing our ability to make our own decisions. Why anyone would not want to be as free as humanly possible is beyond me.
