They chose residual. I gave them the choice of residual or one time. It is straight commission, if they work hard at it, they have chance at big money with the pay scale.

So do you give them a % up front then a residual for each cleaning? Just trying to clarify.

Yes, % off of each job as long as they are employeed by us or as long as we have the account.

Sorry Dave, I just saw this post. I had to let him go. Got to many calls about him promising things that he should not, and just looking out for himself. The positive thing is that the jobs that he did bring us we were able to work through all the messes of the overpromises and keep the accounts.

That is what I do now. We have two full time, paid weekly + commission sales people. Is it worth it? I have produced 90k in sales dec-march. My goal for the year is 500k in sales. We offer commercial PW, Striping, (Seal Coating, Asphalt and Concrete repairs) sub work.

How long did you spend training them... were they experienced selling services in you industry (PW'ing, seal coat, etc?)
How much are you paying them and what percentage of sales do they get, is it one time or residual?

How much do you expect a salesperson to bring in a year in sales and how long do you keep someone before you cut them loose from weak sales? All the above LOU, in your area I have no idea what you could get a good sales person for. Here in phx if i dont give a car and start them at 700 a week im not going to find anyone worth a crap.
My sales are residual income, they collect the commission for the life of the job. 1.5 & 3% based on gross of each sale. I also have bonus incentives to help motivate them.
I would start with a right hand guy to give you more time selling. Thats my advice...
Powerwash sales people are a long term investment.
My candy Jar project is approaching 70 gs and we have not received that much even close in sales.
