Too many forums??

Hey Spencegraves,

I wanted to throw out my opinion on something---I find the board tough to navigate due to too many forums. When I log in, the 'new post' comes up....but if I ever go more than half a day without logging in, the 'new posts' run off of one page, so I have to go to "forums" and find stuff. I don't do it, however---I just blow it off. Which means I don't post to something I may have wanted to post to, because it requires too much effort to find it.

That probably sounds lazy, etc.....but the fact is, if that is my thought process, it is probably the thought process of others too. IMO, it is due to there being too many forums. For instance, I just posted a question about cell phones. I looked around for a minute or so trying to find an appropriate forum....and I found one titled, "Wireless etc". Thing is, there were two different 'Wireless' forums! I doubt the number of wireless questions justifies the need for two forums. IMO, I think less is better in this regard.

Rather that just toss out a complaint, I'll also offer what I'd consider to be good solutions:

1) Keep the same forums, but organize them differently. Move the lesser-used forums to the bottom (i.e. kitchen guru, etc).

2) Figure out a way to color-code things for easier location?

3) Combine similar forums (mindless blabber plus fun forums)

Anyways, just my thoughts. There is probably a good reason you guys have so many forums----probably involves SEO or something. But as someone that just reads and posts with no concern for SEO, etc.....I find it difficult. Thanks guys!
