Where's a good place to get a delevan 5850

http://www.pressuretek.com/de58secorocl.html is where I got mine. Bob from Pressuretek has been a ton of help in getting it set up. And it works great. Although you do need a few more things than what is shown. We had to buy a battery, wire for the battery, on/off switch, fuses and some other things. About 120 bucks worth of stuff. But it has been SOOOO worth it. Turned a 2 day job into about a 6 hour job.

I Had a Thought

I had used 12v pumps before the are very finicky break snap overheat and plastic guns, lets face it will do the same. I am going to be adding soft washing to my services, and i'm using my smaller MITM 3506 and Two tanks, Two ball valves, and a agricultural spray gun that is adjustable at the gun from wide fan spray to jet stream, right at the gun tip, oh and its made of sturdy steel, less likely to break. Here is how you save yourself from burnt out 12v pumps!

Here is the gun:
<a href="http://www.amazon.com/Gun-Spraymax-Pest-Control-Inlet/dp/B000KFCQPW">GET YOUR GUNN!</a>

Switch from high pressure to low with the switch of a gun. Without spending the extra money, to me the only difference is, no running back and forth to the truck or screaming to your guy to shut it off, and blowing 129.99 everytime the pump fails! I guess the only thing you'll save is gas but what about batteries on your vehicle, those get expensive right? Call me crazy I guess!! :D

Couple of issues...it says it is not in stock and may never be...also do you know how well it will stand up to Sodium H?

That is the same gun I have been using for over a year now since either Feb. or March of last year on the Bandit. Great gun and I have spares so when it does give out I am ready.

I think that metal gun will meet the love and start to corrode very soon, especially if you use it for roofs or do a lot of housewashing.

Even Stainless Steel will not hold up to the love as it will rust too.

Give the metal gun a try. Do they sell a rebuild kit for it so when the seals give out it can be fixed on site?

How long have you used that metal gun?

The Stainless Gun Link is a common Gun, used by Lawn Spray guys.
It is Metal, and we all know what that means ?

We just use a Ball Valve with quick change Nylon Nozzles from Spraying Systems, works for us.

The spray gun from Pressure Tex looks interesting !

Coating the spring with Viton is a good idea, FOR Sodium Hypochlorite.

NOT a good idea for S Hydroxide

I have cleaned roofs with Lawn Spray nozzles in a pinch ;)

Necessity is the mother of invention!

It is funny,I have been softwashing for 8 years, until recently it has not had a label. lol We just called it cleaning without damaging my customers property.

I've been soft washing since the day I started 12 years ago. Never had the internet until about 5 years ago. The learning curve for new cleaners must be a lot shorter than it was for me. I began with "soft washing" because I knew it would make a nice job and also in a controlled manner. Makes you feel more like a technician rather than a typical "pressure" washer.

When I started house washing 8 years ago, I washed so soft, I didn't even use a machine - just a hose-end sprayer! I added a 2500 psi machine so I could wash foundations. As I learned, I added equipment - always with the goal of working smarter and faster.

We started with one electric pump to soap and rinse with. Now, we use a high flow gas rinse pump to follow the soaper around for maximum speed. The process is very efficient , but I liked it better with no noise at all.

We are generally more expensive than a conventional power washer, most people contract us because we do not use one.

We have one on the truck for hotwashing gum ( http://www.hotwashing.com ) on our commercial accounts. I run a 8gpm honda/general and a 36" maxima with one of Bob's hot boxes for that. I pressure washed houses, etc.. for over ten years before I started softwashing.

1/2" multi-ply rubber pieces cut from a large sheet. They all are getting close to replacing.

Tim,

Very nice set up. You mentioned, that you are always seeking to improve your rig. From the looks of it there is not much more you can do, except to maybe automate it. Have you considered that?
