This year I have been softwashing and it has been a good selling point. I even have it on my postcards. Maybe the Yellow pages ad next year under Pressurewashing. haha.

Thanks to you guys that helped me and answered a lot of my questions.

It's a great selling point, it just makes sense to people.

Tim,

Your approach to "softwashing" is interesting. (not just talking about it or mentioning the phrase in your advertising but setting up your equipment to drive the point home)

What measurable benefits have you achieved taking this approach?
- More efficient?
- Higher close ratio?
- Higher rates?

Ken, we really have seen improvements in all aspects.

- Efficiency is impressive, though I am never satisfied and always improving.

- Close ratio is high with expierience, equipment and the "safe" approach.

- Rates are competitive with traditional washing methods, but we can get away with a little bit higher rates because of our personal attention to detail, safer methods, etc...

- Our truck really has made a difference, people know you are serious when you pull up in it. We advertise it in everything, just driving around town is great advertising.

If you could put some lettering or graphics on the sides of the bed of the truck (regular pickup truck 3/4 ton long bed), what do you think would be good to promote?

I am having the graphics done and it is turning into a partial wrap. Here are some of the proofs so far but we are not done yet.

Trying to think of what to put on the sides. I am thinking of using the little pressure washer guy as part of the name/logo. What do you guys think?

On the side, I am thinking of changing that to "Softwashing".

On the back, they are changing the contrast so the background will be dark and letters light or background light and letters dark so it catches attention better.

Just trying to think about what else to put on the sides. Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Here my new business card. Explains it all.

Does rinsing a Kitchen Exhaust System with a garden hose count as "softwashing"?

If so, I guess I offer "softwashing".:D

I just want to let everyone know what I'm talking about, that's all.

Hey Tim, what do you add to your mix to make it smell good? I have seen some stuff out there that smells like citrus?

Also do you always rinse or just spray and go?

What about that nifty tip

What exactly is the nifty little tip you guys are using for the high pressure set up? I am Going to get a low pressure set up over the next couple months but in the meantime, need something to hold me over. Is it just a chemical feed tip without that fancy black plastic over the dial? Where do you get them? thanks!

I use several different 'chemical feed' tips of differing sizes and use a ball valve to shut off chems.

Get a 0040, a 1540, a 2540, and maybe a hose barb.
I get mine from Bob .

Thanks for that

Yeah im thinkin its just a waste of gas, and probably not good for the machine to use low pressure for extended periods. Im just going to do the gravity feed and get a soft rig going much like russ has. It seems worthwhile, i know where i can have custom tanks made on the spot. But the reels are the really expensive part right unless you guys know where to get em cheap??   :D

I've downstreamed thousands of houses (almost 8 years - full time) using my pressure washer and either a chemical (black) tip and/or a 1/4" quick connect with a 1/4" hose barb added (easily reaches 2 and 3 stories) with no ill-affects on the equipment. With proper maintenance, your pump and motor will last for a long, long time. If you think about it, downstreaming is probably easier on them.

Just keep good maintenance on your equipment and take care of it and unless it has defects, it should last a long time except the seals, you just start to lose pressure but a quick kit and you are going again.

Its very nice to see all of the info! The questions and answers that are posted on this site help with any doubts a person could have. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Softwashing guys:

What are the major equipment that you need for softwashing? what kind of chems, etc... I have a delevan 5850, 125gl tank 200 feet of hose, and used the Apple Sauce today for the first time, and it was friggen amazing. But what else, is needed to truly be able to soft wash EVERYTHING? If you dont mind divulging a little.
