Tucson, AZ

A restaurant in the 2000 Block of East Broadway Boulevard had to close after the kitchen caught fire on September 20, according to a press release.

The manager of this restaurant called 911 after a fire started in the kitchen duct work above the stove. Six people evacuated the restaurant and waited outside in a safe area.

Firefighters arrived to find a fire in the kitchen area that had spread into the walls and duct work of the building. The fire took only nine minutes to extinguish.

The kitchen fire caused $25,000 in damages. The cause of the fire was determined to be accidental.

The restaurant is closed for business until repairs can be completed.

No injuries were reported.
