SFPD Responds To Castro Restaurant Fire

San Francisco firefighters this morning are responding to a restaurant fire in the city's Castro district, a dispatcher said.

Units responded to fire reported at a restaurant at Church and Market streets at around 6 a.m., according to the San Francisco Fire Department.

The one-alarm fire burned for about 35 minutes until it was declared knocked down at around 6:35 a.m., the dispatcher said.

Preliminary reports indicate the blaze ignited in a flue in the structure, according to dispatch.

Further information was not immediately available.

Crews remain at the scene and the fire is under investigation.
