SAN DIEGO - A kitchen fire in the Mission Valley restaurant of former San Diego Chargers linebacker Junior Seau disrupted lunchtime service Saturday, but no one was hurt.
The blaze broke out in the kitchen flue system around 12:15 p.m. at Seau's The Restaurant in the Westfield Mission Valley Mall, according to a dispatcher with the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department
Firefighters extinguished the flames and helped ventilate the kitchen, the dispatcher said.
The sports-themed restaurant was opened in 1996 by Seau, who has comeout of retirement several times to play for the New England Patriots, including this season.
