Soho – fire in restaurant with flats above it 02 February 2010
Six fire engines and around 30 firefighters were called to a fire in a restaurant with flats above it on Gerrard Street, W1, yesterday afternoon.

Around half of the second floor was damaged by fire. The restaurant’s ducting leading from the second to the fourth floor was also damaged by the blaze.

The Brigade was called at 1521 and the fire was under control by 1736. Fire crews from Paddington, Soho, Clerkenwell, Euston and Knightsbridge stations were at the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
