Your opinion on how to clean concrete safely!

Look, I'm about to bid some gas stations and I know alot of you use caustic beads but I would like to know how you apply and how long before you break out the surface cleaner with hot water so you can move on to another. Russ and some others wipped thru 22 stations in 2 days so I would like to know what they use and how long of a dwell time before rincing. I do understand if you read this Russ and don't want to tell all. LOL

Suggestion from "Some others":
Spray it on down wind from you and don't breath while you are doing it. Try not to get it on any pumps, paint, doors, people, pets, cars, plants, grass, windows, in your boots, your trailer, truck, asphalt, hoses, canopy's, and when you take out the soap tip rinse your hands.
By the time you finish spraying it has usually been long enough. Now bring out the surface cleaner and wash away.

The best safety advice I can give you when cleaning concrete is to get the Leggs nylons, don't go cheap on the pantyhose. The cheaper ones absorb the caustic more than the Leggs or more expensive brands.

I would also suggest the high heel boots, the strappy high heels seem to wiggle around to much, and slip on the wet concrete.

Matt, any advice on panties for cleaning a residential driveway and walks. Should I wear something different during the week verses the weekend jobs?
Just curious,,, Please keep in mind that it is very hot and humid down here in Florida. Thanks in advance for all your help! LOL:D

Nicole I don't suppose I could get a copy of that cookbook could I?

I'd be interested to see what is being used and if it is compatible with the filters on my recycle system. I'm thinking about finding an alternative filter so I can use SH and "whiten" sidewalks and drives. Especially mine after I those new tips arrive for my surface cleaner. :)

Just a note, In California, the discharge for most sewer plants require that your discharge is not less than 6.7 PH and not more than 10.0 Water is 7.0. If you use an acid compound of 4 ph or less, beware of the laws for your county discharge. Fines could be steep. In our neck of the woods, the fine is by based on the gallons discharged into the sewer. 1 hour of pressure washing could hit $3,000 dollars in fines or more. ( It is a sliding scale based on your GPM)

Suggestion, go to your local pool supplier and get a kit for reading the PH balance of your discharge. They cost from $25 to $75. Well worth the protection, and don't forget your permit !

Mini skirt,a no hose

I'm starting to wear my teva's when cleaning concrete. I wear those white boots and they are killing my legs, hips and knees. We put those door skirts on our machines so they don't throw mud and rocks at our feetl

I can only imagine that it is very frustrating to clean the mud and rocks from your high heels, after a day of skirt-work.:p
