Yellow stains

Are the yellow stains from irrigation water contacting homes iron stains?
I sure see a lot of homes in my area that have the lower portions of the siding yellowed/light brownish-orange from years of sprinkler water contact. If so, what product removes these stains without damaging the metal, vinyl or wood siding? I see a BIG MARKET here if I can get it right on this stain!

Thanks,

Mike

They are commonly "rust" stains from the sprinkler system. That being said you would need an acid based cleaner to remove it. Applied correctly it should not damage the substrate. :)

Product like "Stain Solver" / Oxygen bleach? No?
Rookie here on board.<:yeah:

Oxygen bleach is still technically an alkaline. CLR is an example of a consumer rust remover. Some guys use Muriatic Acid. We recommend a phosphoric/citric acid blend.

Try oxalic acid or if you have a Home Depot or Lowes nearby(who doesn't) pick up some rust aide and spray it on. If its sulfur from sprinklers using well water it will disappear before your eyes.

Hi Scottwash,

That's a company in Canada. I'm in Washington State. Just finished paperwork. Have LLC established, insured with L&I nonsense Regis. in the mail.
:smile2:
I wish I was in Business since 2005! Then I wouldn't have some of these goofy questions for everyone.

Mike
