women's forum?

Turn him off-we don't need it.

David

I disagree, leave him on the bbs.

Jon's a big-boy and can handle things like this as he as been stepped on,stomped on,spit on like a few of us others.

That type post shows not only what we have to go though on the outside of the bbs but here too.Let him have his say as to know what type we're dealing with in our trade on the outside as to know how to better ourselfs. Its a learning tool for some of us as to not get out of hand if we want respect from others.Change some of the words to suit as you have the power to do so,make it into a funny post as to show a kinder side of the IP which would be worse than kicking them off,yel sorta of a love letter like thing to whoever they step on and think of the fun you could have with their post dat if they dared to post again like that.

Bigboy is right,

I can handle the crap some wish to send me, after all I do admit I have sent out trash in the past.

Ron let the kid post, we all know who he is and what he is.

Hey Zippo,
Jon and I are friends. We may not always see eye to eye but we are friends. Some of us can agree to disagree, or are even open enough, willing enough to change our point of view when another comes along that we didn't consider.

You really don't want to get into it now, do you? You were just trying to have fun and take a side, joing the conversation perhaps?

Now is your chance to jump in and save face. Mend the fence. You might even make friends with some very good people.

Beth

First, I would like to Thank Jon - I think his suggestion on a "Ladies Forum" was thoughtful and appreciated. I would however, offer the suggestion that if there was a ladies forum, that men be allowed to post as well.

I think the inclusion of men would be refreshing, it would allow them to express their viewpoint. We all know that it is easier for us to express ourselves in written text than it is to do it in person.

Ron, you're right there are real issues when it comes to women in business and in such a male dominated field. Not that, that's bad...Men are a GOOD thing :)

Some of the issues that I am currently involved in, is the process of Minority Certification. The process itself is quite a task. We are (hopefully) in the final stages of it now. (fingers & toes crossed)

There is also the question of sales (especially in fleet washing). My stepping in the door vs my father. Do women have an advantage in sales over men? My father is very effective, he is older and has a wonderful way of communicating with the receptionists to get in to see the right person.

I on the other hand have sat with men who will say and do things to boast themselves and their responsibilities clearly looking to impress me, but when it comes down to the nut & bolts they overstated themselves or what the company has to offer us.

That's just one example of the differences we have and how best to use them to our company's advantage.

Another issue I struggle with is promoting United's "minority" status. I'm not a big supporter of Affirmative Action. I believe we should be granted a contact on our abilities and our record as a wash company, not on my sex or color.

http://www.wbenc.com This site has a listing of all the companies nationwide that award contracts to women owned businesses. You can't look at this expansive list and not wonder..."to hell with what I think...there are businesses out there who will do business with me because I'm a woman"

As far as the bulliten boards go - I find Dan's board and this one the most "women friendly" boards on the net. I don't take well to offensive behavior, pix's, put downs and the such. I hope as this board grows that it too will maintain a high level of respect for it's members.

Anyway...this post has gotten long enough :)

Everyone, take care and have a wonderful weekend!
Bridget

Bridget , Happy Birthday ...Good to See you visit the BBS.

If your talking about JON, I would let him run the womans only board I think he is really in touch with his feminin side. Seems like a frekin wash woman !!

No women's Pressure washing FOrum Yet
Ron I think this board should have a women's only forum.

Sure the guys could read but not post, it should be female to female and anything goes.

Business, pleasure, personal etc.

Might even block out the guys.

What say people?
