winter time options

my husband and i have been in the business for several years and only recently have been doing it full time, as we are approaching the winter months, i was hoping some can give me advice on ideas for the cold weather months and pressure washing.

We do rain gutter cleaning (interior, not cosmetic).

Other areas you can focus on during colder months are fleets and new construction cleanups.

Snow plowing is an option as well, but requires a significant investment in equipment which may or may not pay off.

Good luck!

i have been doing some minimal researching on fleet washing- what are the best methods of getting your business introduced to car lots and other companies that have fleets....also any sites that talk about prices that are charged?
my husband aalways turns away gutter jobs saying too tedious and not enough profit, i mentioned that i saw a special wand attachement that seemed to make it go quick? what are basic charges for these services?

Welcome fellow Long Islander. Your from Jerry Seinfeld and the Baldwin brothers neck of the woods. How about Acting?? :D j/k

Gutter cleaning I usually charge between $75-$95 on average. I have that piece of equipment that your talking about for gutter cleaning and I hardly ever use it. I pretty much get up on the roof and clean them out by hand. Having my bucket truck comes in handy for this but a ladder works good also.

I see you guys also paint. Doesn't that keep you busy some in the winter months??

As for me I have another job year round but I also powerwash year round with a couple of commercial accounts. Mostly I do residential outdoor work which as you know kicks in from late March/Early April to late October/November.

As for fleet accounts I don't do them but I hear that they are to be had if you can find them.

Good Luck
