White Vans

I have a fleet of white, very dirty vans to bid on. I have cold water 4gpm @ 3000 psi plumbed to a 225 gallon tank. I am liscensed and insured and recovery is not a problem will be washing on private property on a stone parking lot no storm drains to worry about.I know i will probably have to brush the first couple of times and apply a wax. There are 20 vans 5 pickups and several cars, all white with lots of lettering. My question is what chems to use with cold water to get them clean. Is 2 step an option on vans , I would prefer a chemical other than acid as my first step since I am fairly inexperienced at fleet washing. I also need some pricing guidelines to break down 3 ways. weekly wash biweekly wash and monthly wash. I am a one man crew. I figure about 11.00 on the vans, 7.00 on the pickups and 5.00 on cars. Is this in the ball bark for monthly washing and then discount say 1.00 for biweekly wash and weekly washing? Thank you very much for any responses.

for chems check out steve rowlett www.srowlett@bellsouth.net
for price thats about $250 monthly wash
if bi weekly throw in the cars for free
if weekly then drop the $1 plus the cars
use wash mits not brushes 5-7 min per truck
soap 3 rinse 3 start over use the rinse aid
thats $250 for 2 1/2 hours work with set-up and brake down not bad
if the trucks are really bad tell the customer it may take 2 washing bi-weekly to get them as good as you would like them to be.

We use two people, one with a Sureflo pump to soap down and one to wash with pressure washer. We charge $10.00 per pickup, 1 ton flat bed , cars and vans on a twice per month basis. We do 8 per hour this way. The account we do this way we have been washing for this price for the last six years at this price. They send checks like clockwork. You can do this with one person but it is well worth paying for the help. With a Sureflo you are not having to flush your line as with using down flow system. It takes less than 20 minutes to wash a semi tractor this way.

I like your pricing, and if they're lined up and ready to be washed I'd 2-step them. If you don't have to wash windows or vacuum the insides you're outta there in less than 2 hours. You said "several cars" though so maybe longer. Sounds like a sweet little account, Good Luck.

you steppin with PH or HF? or you got somethin diffrent what 's the acid costin you and if is HF
how are you trainning your helpers?

HF's illegal here now and I can't say I miss it all that much cause that stuff was kinda nasty. I use Hydrachloric and pay $500 a drum for pure. You still have to be careful, but we've only had one incident using it, and that was a window I burnt up on a hot day. I upstream the stuff and always have so ya can't be messin around and let it dry on you.

I don't use acid everywhere, and have had the same guys with me for a long time now, and we take care when we use it. It's a great alternative to brushin when you're by yourself.

BIG TRUCK BRITE

Mike,
Check out our truck washes at www.sunbritesupply.com. They are designed to be brushless cleaners and one will leave your vans with a waxed shine when you're through. It's non-caustic, and is an aggressive cleaner as well. Let the cleaner do your work and forget about brushing!! Call or e-mail with any other questions. Tracy
