Which one do you prefer and why?

I prefer open trailer, Because its easier to get to everything instead of having to remove stuff to work on equipment. Our open trailer is 18' and packed there is no way it could all fit in a Enclosed trailer and still be able to work on things.

I have an open trailer but would prefer a box truck. I think the advantages of a box truck are:

Equipment protected from the weather.
Equipment protected from sticky fingers (able to lock it up).
No trailer to deal with.
In the morning, get in and go / in the afternoon, park it and lock it.

That pretty much nails it. Along with mounting the ladder on the lower side of the box and mounting the reels under the box.

Yup Box Truck.

Open trailers, even though a box truck would be real nice for obvious reasons I feel that any bleach spilled in there could stink the cab up for weeks.

I prefer the flatbed. Of course when your truck goes down though (Like mine has a few times) to the dealer for various things then you get a vacation.

I pulled a trailer for the 1st 4 years I was in business. Never again unless it's a reclaim unit or a back up unit.

It depends on what I am doing. I have a trailer set up for doing garages. I have flatbed trucks set up for cleaning bus stops. I don't have any enclosed equipment, but I don't think that will work everywhere, because of climate.

Have a flat bed truck that I use everyday. I also have a "hybrid" half open half enclosed trailer. I always like to have back ups of everything. If my flatbed goes down I just get in my other truck and hook up to the trailer and when I'm busy we use both trailer. I like the Idea of box trucks or flatbeds but I always have to have a back up.

Open trailer, Open trailer, Open trailer!!!

I just felt like saying that! Plus its the only thing I use at this moment.

I have two enclosed trailers and i love em. I like the fact that no one can see whats inside, all the equipment is out of the weather, and i have mine set up so everything is easily accessable. I also like it becuase when its raining and break time, or not raining the men can sit in the trailer and have lunch instead of making a mess of my truck. I also have all my hose reels in the air and off the floor so that saves a lot of room.

I would also choose a box truck as well but that is maybe 2 yrs down the road.

Thanks everyone. I have an open trailer now but getting really sick of pulling trailers. I'm thinking about a box truck or a flat bed but not sure. I like the box because of the security but I had an enclosed trailer and didn't like working on stuff when it broke because stuff was hard to get to. I like a flatbed but want the security of a box. I cant make up my mine! I guess i will go out a look at some trucks this weekend. Any suggestion on which style of box or flat? Thanks again.

I prefer open trailers. I'm a big fan of the 12x6. But either next year or 2014 winter I'm going to a flat bed truck. Similar to what the lawn company's use.

Open trailer since reclaim equipment was added and needed space.
Building a second 2 man rig this year and prefer to go flatbed but not opposed to another open trailer setup if needed. Like mentioned earlier good flatbeds are hard to find and if truck goes down the whole rig is down.

Box truck and enclosed trailer. Everything is locked up. If you hit a small cold spell a space heater can buy you valuable time.
