I'm looking to get a new pressure washer, I don't want to get the wrong machine and wasting my time and money and getting stress!

I will use it everyday like 6 to 8 hours house exterior, deck and drive ways. Also for kitchen exhaust cleaning.
3000psi to 4500 psi 5gpm-8gpm
If its good maybe dual wand machine can be great, we are working most the time 2 guys.

I would like to hear actual users, NOT FROM SALES PEOPLE..

Please tell me your experience about pressure washers. I'm looking to get right machine, which is not going to give problem middle of season, I don't have repair place around me.

Welcome to send me a private email too. Just whats the best pump, burner, machine.. Based on your experience. Or if you getting new machine what you get?

Henry, every brand of machine has their quirks. Just like cars do. If I was going to go out and buy a brand new machine tomorrow then I would get one from Jerry. I know he would custom build it to make it work for my business. Some guys prefer Landas over Hydroteks or Pressure Pros over Hotsy for various reasons. You can have just as many problems with a brand new unit as you can with a unit that has 1500 hours on it.

Thank you Vince, you are right. I do carpet cleaning business, I have many equipment and tools. I believe what you are saying to, but again I'm looking to get some nice brand, good quality brand.

Alkota, Hydrotek and Landa, you cant go wrong with any of them!

Whats model is nicer and more useful from this 3 brand and whats the price around approximately ?

By the way is there any body using 1 machine/one pump and using in same time two guy two wand? Is it really working well for washing house deck?

I have a bunch of different machines. Most of them are Aaladins. They are also the maker of Steel Eagle products. Depending on which model you purchase, you could have a very nice machine. I would make sure that you specify which pump you want, and that they follow the specifications. I fell into that trap, and I had to retrofit a bunch of pumps to fit so that I had a durable reliable machine.
I also have a machine of Jerry's, or Pressurewasher.net. My guys love it. Every time one of them uses it, they say they want one on their truck. I couldn't think of a better recommendation then that.

Wow its will be hard to give decision, giving a way like $7k-$10k.
What brand model pump is the best then you think? Base on your experience..
Btw in last summer we broke 4 Dewalt 4200 psi, all pump problem..

I mean just whats the best pump, burner, machine.. Based on your experience. Or if you getting new machine today what you get?

All in all I lean towards the Alkota's, they are in my opinion the Cadillac of Pressure Washers but thats just my 2 cents worth!

As far as pricing they are all pretty close as long as the parts match, ie motor, pump, unloader, coil size and ect..... I simply feel the Alkota is put together much better but I still really like the Hydroteks we own as well.

The dewalts are direct drive and have crappy pumps. Any belt drive unit would run circles around it. I have a dewalt as back up, but mostly just borrow engine parts from it. You will be happy with your next purchase.

Ok, this is from my PERSONAL experience, I truly like the AR pumps, they are built like a tank, some will say the Genera Pump is better and for some reasons it may be I just hate rebuilding pumps and every General we have ever owned we had to rebuild every 6 to 8 months and I have AR pumps that have been years without a rebuild and believe me they are well used!

Engines, I like the Kohlers first and then Briggs and lastly the Honda's, Briggs and Kohlers are the easiest to get parts for but even still we rarely have to work on them, Hondas are a pain in my opinion, I have to order parts for them.

Unloaders, I like the big, high flow, green spring unloaders, they are beast!

Coils are easy, BIG BEEFY schedule 80's and Alkots has the absolute best coil on the market.

All in all, I contribute the longevity of our machines to keeping the fluids changed every month, the guys that keep them outside all the time, seem to work on the all the time as well.

I have 2 hotsy pressure washers and I have never had a minutes problem out of either one of them one has a briggs and the other has a honda. I only use premium gas and kerosine, change oil and pump oil about every 50 hours and filter when dirty. I have an enclosed trailer so filters last a while. The old machine I have is a 1260 and it probably has 5000 hours on it and I plan on keeping it forever. Its no as pretty as the 1270ss but I never have any issues,,,,...... Knock on wood! I do have the machines checked out once a year by a hotsy service tech to check / replace belts, inspect valves, and seals. The beckett burners are worry free. and the pump warranty is the best around. Never owned landa or the others mentioned but I have heard that landa products are good.

Thank guys so much, I really appreciate it. Thank you so much..
I'm looking Alkota and Hotsy. They are look like really giant machine, or I'm looking to wrong model. Definitely must be 3000psi to 4500 psi, 5gpm-8gpm and I have to put inside the van. In this area bc traffic impossible using trailer!

I will get information about price models from those company, also Hydrotek. Another things when I connect to those company they are sending me to NY dealers. And really I HATE IT to deal with those NY'er sales people.. I'll keep looking..

(I wish this forums have like, agree, disagree, funny buttons.. )

Yes, thats funny. Just I learn whats is that direct drive and belt drive like a 4-5 mounts ego. My all machines are direct drive. Problems always machine was running but no pressure.

Next time even back up for sure I will get direct drive. I have right now 2 Dewalt 4200psi, if I can sell it them and then I will get belt drive for back up..

I don't mean to take this off subject, but it might be relevant.

How much HP does it take to run a nice 8GPM pump or two even? I'm thinking of a belt driven system in the near future to run multiple pumps that can be operated individually or simultaneously or combined.

Also, has anyone ever experimented with a hydraulic pump to run their PW pump? I'm thinking crazy now, so bare with me.

I have Hondas, Briggs, and a kohler and have ran cat, general and udor pumps. Any new set ups that I do will probably be kohler or Briggs, gearbox, Udor pump, flow switch, green spring unloader, vertical hot box with large capacity fuel tanks. Hydroteks sure look nice though.

You have to watch out for water issues in this area. Carry water, ask people if they have issues with there well or have had issues, be care when running two machines off a well. I take care of some big estates and have water issues in the area. Machines are the easy part.

I was thinking that from my carpet business but never take serious, good to know.

Thank you, thank you sooo much.. I'm adding my to do list..

BigShark what kinda of carpet cleaning machine so you have? Those Dialblos look pretty neat if i was gonna clean carpet thats what i would have.

No, it's useless unless you're running +10 gpm plus puts a strain on the equipment with flow jumping between 2 guns. I tried it 1 time, and took the 2nd reel, hose & wand off immediately.

I've had Alkota's, Landa's & M-T-M's.......Hands down the absolutely best machine built out there is the Landa SLT series . They come in 5gpm & 8 gpm models.
