Okay...so I just ordered a Water Dragon 8 GPM Hot Water PW skid. Probably 3 weeks out. I know I will need to get some goodies to go with it. Roof cleaning, I can tell you EXACTLY what to get after years doing it and making all the mistakes. But for this new venture...Newbie.
I will need a good surface cleaner. Leaning towards the Steel Eagle or Whisper Wash units. I keep seeing people comment positively on the 4 bar units so I plan on that. Question is...24", 28" or 30"? What nozzle size? We will do mostly residential driveways and walkways for now until we are comfortable with the machine and start going after bigger commercial work.
I will need PW hose. 1 wire? 3 Wire? Why the heck is there wire? Probably looking at 200'.
What is the best end of hose setup...gun/wand wise for house washing?
Fuel tanks...self explanatory. But the question is...how big? I see PWS has fuel tanks available but they are fairly spendy and the capital layout is building up for an unknown adventure. Since we will be doing mostly smaller projects to start, can we get away with some 5-6 gal fuel cans to start and then later on put in a larger gas tank and plumb the diesel into one of the truck tanks? Anybody have feedback as to gal per hour on the beast so I can get an idea of run time?
How about an injector? We will likely do mostly house and driveway with larger projects in the future. Since we are primarily a roof cleaning company, I have roof mix available in large quantity, typically with Myristamine Oxide surfactant (Ammonyx Mo). Super easy for me to put a feed tube directly off that tank into an injector at the machine, however...I do know that if you pump roof mix thru a typical reel, you are going to have a problem with the manifold eventually. Ditto anything else that is not fully SH compatible. However, the percentages we use in roof cleaning are going to be far higher than with a PW, so maybe not as much a concern as I am thinking?
FW Tank. I have a 65 FW tank onboard right now for roof wash downs. I know it is small, but can it work for now as a buffer tank until I get either a bigger flatbed (8 x 12 currently) or figure out how to squeeze in a bigger tank with the truck mount compressor, roof reel, air reel, hose reel, pw reel, 1" AODD roof pump, 3/4" AODD Transfer pump, 3/8" AODD pump (plan to use that for BARC F9), roof tank and storage.
