I just found out that Wal-mart Marine, RV and Lawn Mower batteries are no longer going to have a warranty and I mean no warranty. Just thought I would throw it out there for any of you that need a deep cycle battery or one of the others on the list. I bet their battery sales go way down! Car batteries are still going to carry a warranty.
 
I only buy Interstate batteries. They are the best on the market in my opinion.
 
To be honest they way most people treat marine batteries I wouldn't warranty them either. Put them on a boat for a trolling motor rapid charge it the day they get it use it till it is dead on the water. Rapid charge it back up and repeat that two or three times for three months then leave it sit in the weather for 5 months with no or a low charge or a best a load sense trickle charger on it and then in the spring when it won't hold a good charge come storming into the store to get a replacement I would get tired of it too.
Same battery in a long haul truck and it will last years.
Also
Walmart house brand Everstart MAXX batteries are valve regulated lead acid batteries, they tend to have a useful life of a few years. In contrast, a flooded cell lead acid battery which can be refilled with electrolyte and is of high quality can have a longer life, perhaps ten years or more.

Interstate, hands down.

Go to your local Interstate distributor, bring your Federal EIN number and State Tax ID info. You will qualify as a "dealer". I get any and all batteries Interstate sells for cost.

Consult with your accountant. Any batteries that I can write off as business expenses are tax free. If you start selling batteries to friends, customers, etc, you will probably be required to charge State sales tax, keep good records and report the sales tax transactions as required by your State.
 
Alexy, you seem to know something about everything. I have walmart marines and they've done good, there's like 4 types - I got the one that says starting and running, not sure if all marine batteries are like that.
 
I usually get 2 to 3 years out of a walmart battery. I have never had a problem with them holding up til the end of the warranty and for the price you can almost buy 2 for the cost of any other battery. The other reason I have always bought them is the simple fact that if I had a battery problem at any time they are open 24 hours and I can exchange or get a new one on my way to the boat ramp or a job! Anyone that has charged their battery all night for a tournament the next morning and has woke up to a dead battery that did not take a charge will understand this!:banghead:
 
I won't shop at Wal-Mart for anything. There stuff is all crap. They used to say made in America, but since Sam Walton died everything they sell is made in China. No thanks!!!
