vehicle wraps

Companies apply them, and their not very cheap either. I got a quote once for a small 4 cylinder kia ... I got quoted $1,400.

I however do believe it is very effective, since they do stand out a lot, and def. gets more looks then just normal lettering.

If you search "truck graphics" Scott in Houston did a nice job on a pickup for $400.00. Not a wrap but easy to read and I would think effective. I've never done a wrap but I have a friend in remodeling that says he gets a lot of business from it. His ran $1,600 a pop for a full size van. Signage is something people usually over do. Unless it's on the back of a vehicle, they don't have much time to read. Keep it simple with large easy to read text. Don't list six different things you do.

As goofy as it sounds I know a plumber that has a big Elmo on his grill. He also has signage for his business. But he says you wouldn't believe the mom's that call and say, "are you the plumber with the Elmo on your truck?" The kids point it out to mom. I'm sure they don't think he's a better plumber just an imprint to remember when they need a plumber.

Most of the places that are online and who I called start around $1900.00 for a truck or van so start saving if you want a wrap.

I did the tailgate of my truck and had the sides lettered and a sticker of my logo on each side. It was not a bad price.

I have had it for over a year and within the first week I had a few calls just from seeing the truck and the first job I did paid for the graphics.

In a year I have had around 60 calls from people seeing the truck and about 48 jobs came out of that. Not a bad investment.

Before you do one, get some help with a great marketing message, mine does not have a good message and did good but now I want to re-do the truck with a great message and I know they will call more.

Pretty pictures and graphics and your name will not get them to call too often, you need a marketing message.

You don't need a wrap, just get it professionally lettered. This should cost you $300-$600. I have lettered four vehicles and each one payed for itself within two weeks.

Lettering your vehicle is very important because:

1. It gets you work!
2. Shows you are a professional and adds credibility
3. Shows that you are here to stay and not fly by night

Go talk to several companies and get prices from all of them.

Everybody gets lettering done on service trucks today. The problem with that is that they all blend in, nobody pays attention to lettering vs. a wrap. I'm having a partial done on my F-250 in the next few weeks hopefully. I'm using a graphics co. that I've done alot of business with in the past year. I told them I had a 1k budget for the project, and they say no prob.

Here's the key to keeping the price down on these: the material used to wrap the vehicles is X ammount of inches wide. A good graphics designer can put 2 sides worth of graphics on 1 piece of material, kind of 2 triangles on if you can picture it. Talk to your designer to see if they can help you out like this.

Shop wraps carefully. I have seen some very poorly installed wraps that look worse than nothing at all. There are also much better deals to be had than others are quoting here. I got my truck in my avatar done as well as window perfs on my wife's Excursion (which I removed because we couldn't stand them), and the graphic design work done for $1100.

Also, I feel my wrap makes me stand out from the crowd of lettered/magnetic signed trucks around. There are some good lettering jobs I've seen on here, though. I guess it just boils down to having good work done either way you go.

Whether you get it wrapped or lettered, it is always a good idea. It is one more way to get your name in front of potential clients. Even though like mentioned before many don't have time to read it the more they see your name the more likely they will be to call when ready for your service. $1100 might be alot but worth it in the end to add credibility, name recognition, and will last at least a few years if properly cared for.
