Any ideas on the best price for 16 hp cold water vanguard in new condition?

It's the 5.6 gpm 3500 psi (maybe got the model number wrong) it needs a 16 hp engine for optimal psi. Any comments anyone?

16hp cold water.

Actually only want the price of a reliable 16 hp engine to use the 5.6 gpm 2500 psi or better is fine with me.

I am guessing $2500 plumbed. (Based on $1000 engine $350 gearbox, $425 pump, plumbing/markup = $remainder)

It may be cheaper/almost the same to run to 13 hp's @ 4gpm joined, and you will have redundancy, a 2 gun option and 8gpm if needed.

This is interesting 13.7 hp Perkins diesel with 60 amp alternator for $600.00 !
Needs radiator and muffler.

Try ebay of course

smallenginewherehouse is always a good bet http://stores.ebay.com/SmallEngineWarehouse

I think these engines are *exact* knockoffs of honda, parts interchange.
This single cylinder 16 hp to your door for $390.00! Not sure how that single cylinder will work, but I bet it will do it.

Whoa, even amazon - same engine says $309.00 ship for $6.00!

I'd go for that diesel!

These are the ones I buy electric start. Never had a problem yet. $375.95 delivered within 3-4 days to my door.

I bought a bum one from Small Engine Warehouse they are about 1 hour from my house. They wouldn't take it back the next day. Made me deal with the manufacturer who did fix it but it took a few weeks, not good customer service. I'd never buy from them again.

You need 17.81 hp for full output of the TS2021 pump. GPM x PSI / 1100 for a industrial gas engine. divide by 1260 for diesel and 1460 for electric to get required hp.

Nigel, you got me beat with that $290.00 electric start engine. I was only thinking of 16 hp also, 5 at 3000 would be my best guess. The multi unit setup is an interesting idea. What about the splash lubrication? Doesn't sound like the best thing.

I have hundreds of hours on 4 of those engines. No break downs at all. I also have burners. They run 20" surface cleaners at a fast walk. Everything we need so far. More HP is always better. But I can build a whole other complete unit for less than a Honda motor alone (not including burner). I'm guessing they run about 5gpm at 3,000psi.

Skid units are usually running generators too with their engines so they need additional HP just for that. I have separate generators.

It all depends on your use Tom. If you use synthetic oils and change regularly, the hours you may obtain form that unit may rival the industry standard motors.

The multi unit set up was always interesting to me, with more reliable low cost motors and pump sale prices, it may often be cheaper than going with the bigger more expensive pumps and larger motors, and with smaller units you have redundancy built in.

The pump prices often jump when flows are above 4 to 4.5 gpm. So why not just join 2 or for that matter 3 together, 12gpm at 3500psi is a monster. If one unit goes down you still at 8gpm. After I joined two 4.5 gpm pumps,...... 4.5gpm alone is like an air brush gun.

Thanks for the information guys, You have some good points, cold water is what i need this for - mainly res. I am going to upgrade to the 2021 genral and am looking for 16hp or more.
