This is getting old.

First the pressure washer messes up. Called Russ and he helps figure out whats wrong, and gets me the parts. FIXED. Then my weedeater goes out (I do lawn care also and don't have a backup trimmer). Costs more to fix it then it cost me new. So get a new one. Problem FIXED. Load up this morning to go two counties over for a BIG house wash and two driveways in a third county, truck breaks down about half way there. Had to call and postpone the three jobs. Hopefully I'll get it back tomorrow or Friday.

My question to you all: When calling customers to postpone a job, what do you tell them? I told mine the truth. My truck broke down and I don't have a backup. Told them they were the first ones in line as soon as I got it back. I'm really getting tired of breakdowns though.:banghead:

The truth always works. Equipment breaks down. It is just a fact of life. I am happy that I have back ups for nearly everything I own. It makes life so much easier.

Keep your head up!

Fact of life in this buisness, some of us travel great distances and u have to have 2/3 of everything !!

If you need 1 of something, have 2. Need 2, have 3 and so on. I went down a drill for mixing and a pump up sprayer while doing a job today myself, I always have a back up plan. Piece of PVC pipe and a back up sprayer.
Or you could give me a call if the jobs are close my way. If I'm only running 1 of my rigs the next time it all goes down hill for you I might be able to send help.

Another tool that I keep that is real important when u need one is a good set of easy-outs. These work great when you snap a wand off at the gun, or bust an unloader off at the pump, I have used this tool many times on the road.

Thanks for the tips guys. I actually got the truck back this afternoon, made it hafway through the first driveway, and burst a hose. Luckly, I DID have an extra section I swapped out and got the job done. Story of my week.

Jason, I'll keep the offer in mind. You going to Russ' RT at the end of the month?

I have had those days plenty of times. Gotta just push through it and hope for well paying jobs!
